LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana seeks a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible (BC/BE) Cognitive Specialist to join our outstanding Academic Neurology department and dynamic team. Leadership opportunities available to qualified candidates. We invite applications for the following position:

  • Position: Full-time Academic faculty
  • Academic Rank: Determined based on level of experience and qualifications
  • Description: Open to BC/BE Neurologists with a commitment to both patient care and academic growth. The successful candidate will be a dynamic Cognitive/Dementia Specialist. Leadership opportunities available depending on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality clinical care to patients with neurological conditions.
  • Medical student and Neurology resident education, including supervision in clinics, grand rounds, and didactic conferences.
  • Participation in departmental activities and contributing to the growth of the Dementia program.
  • Mentoring and providing clinical expertise to faculty and residents.
  • Large patient volume potential and leadership potential. Louisiana has the 5th highest Alzheimer’s mortality rate in the US and North Louisiana has a particularly large burden of disease. Potential to be the expert in the field in this region.

  • Academic Medical department with the largest concentration of Subspecialty Neurologists in the Ark-La-Tex region.
  • School of Medicine Faculty and collaborations with the Graduate School and Allied Health
