The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) seeks a Website Marketing Manager to join our team and oversee projects that ensure delivery of a high-performing website with compelling experiences that drive conversion.  This position will own website strategy and its implementation applying strategic thinking, technical knowledge, UX design/content skills, and extensive execution experience to deliver a world-class web experience. 

Under the direction of the Marketing Director, the Website Marketing Manager will be instrumental in growing and retaining AMC’s member and donor community; driving conservation engagement and awareness; increasing lodging and overnight facilities revenues; and growing outdoor programming participation. 

This position will be Remote with preference given to those living in the New England region (VT, NH, ME, MA, CT, RI). 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING AT AMC 

  • Develop a comprehensive website growth strategy in line with our business objectives that enhances the user journey and drives conversions. 
  • Define, monitor, and optimize our website efficiency KPIs, with focus on engagement, conversions, and journey. Communicate progress and results through meaningful reporting.  
  • Ensure a seamless and visually appealing user experience by optimizing the website's information architecture, navigation, layout, and responsiveness.  
  • Own the end-to-end website optimization roadmap, including prioritization, requirements gathering, and implementation.  
  • Work with internal and external parties to make updates and develop custom components to enhance user engagement and interactivity, ensure a high design standard, and make content management more efficient. 
  • Understand the marketing channels driving site traffic and work with the marketing team to develop the shortest paths to conversion. 
  • Conversion rate optimization: A/B test website design, messaging, and CTAs. 
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure all pages and areas of the site are following best practices and brand guidelines. 
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues and set rigorous quality standards. 
  • Ensure proper setup of our tracking metrics by reviewing our structure with Google Tag Manager, UTMs, QR codes, and short-links. 
  • Analyze and report on SEO performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes accordingly . 
  • Create and maintain Google Analytics reports and dashboards. 

WHAT AMC IS LOOKING FOR

  • 6+ years experience managing complex, dynamic, multi-faceted websites across multiple stakeholders. 
  • Strong experience with web analytics (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager), A/B testing, SEO (Google Search Consolte), site personalization and website user journeys. 
  • Deep knowledge and the latest understanding of Wordpress capabilities, limitations, and plugins 
  • Design and layout skills along with a firm understanding of/proficiency in HTML and back-end web page architecture. 
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and innovative thinking.  
  • Ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints and with strong attention to detail and quality. 
  • Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills. 

WHAT AMC CAN OFFER YOU

Salary range: $58,000 - $79,000 / year

The initial salary represents our starting point, and our compensation philosophy is designed to reward and recognize the contributions of our employees as they grow within the organization. External candidates typically begin their journey with us at the starting point of the salary range. The final compensation offer will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills and geographic differential relevant to the position, and will be discussed during the interview process.
