<h4>What The Role Is</h4>Reporting to the Wind Technician Lead, the Wind Technician is responsible for assisting in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electric component maintenance. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable wind turbine operation.Wind Technician levels are defined below, and the ranges will be determined based on the qualifications met.Pay Ranges by Job Level:Wind Technician I ($45,000 - $66,000)Wind Technician II ($52,000 - $74,000)Wind Technician III ($63,000 - $90,000)<h4>What You'll Be Doing</h4>Level I<ul><li>Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment.</li><li>Assist in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance.</li><li>Documents all work performed, parts used and time spent using computer based service reporting procedures.</li><li>Assist in troubleshooting and repair of SCADA communication systems.</li><li>Operate and maintain a service vehicle.</li><li>Maintain hand tools in good working order and well organized.</li><li>Work a flexible on call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Willingness to progress as a technician and take guidance from superiors.</li><li>Help in all areas of site operations as directed by Site Lead and Site Manager with minimal supervision.</li><li>Work a flexible on call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Other duties as assigned within the level I scope</li></ul>Level II &amp; III (additions)<ul><li>Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines.</li><li>Assist in the training and development of lower level operation and maintenance personnel.</li><li>Perform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair and replacement to correct malfunctions.</li><li>Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.</li><li>Use electrical test equipment to assist in troubleshooting and testing.</li><li>Lead maintenance and troubleshooting crews as necessary.</li><li>Safely perform LOTO and mentor lower level technicians in LOTO.</li><li>Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required.</li><li>Other duties as assigned within the level II or III scope respectively</li></ul><h4>What You'll Bring</h4>Level I<ul><li>A high school diploma or GED required or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.</li><li>Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet. Job will require standing outside the nacelle and nosecone at the top of the turbine. Able to work safely in a confined space.</li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.</li><li>Possess demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge. Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires.</li><li>Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.</li><li>Able to travel as required.</li><li>Knowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools.</li><li>Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred.</li><li>Able to communicate verbally and in writing and able to work without direct supervision during performance of work.</li><li>Able to create, edit or modify Microsoft Word and Excel documents.</li><li>Able to meet the requirements of Clearway Energy Group’s Qualified Electrical Worker program.</li></ul>Level II (Additions)<ul><li>An Associate’s degree (electrical or technical) and six months turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and one-year wind turbine experience</li><li>Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires.</li><li>Have an in depth understanding of the different components of the wind turbine including the electrical&nbsp;pitch system, computerized control system, and the power conversion unit as well as knowledge and understanding of OEM approved mechanical maintenance methods and practices.</li><li>Possess the skills to perform mechanical and electrical equipment repairs.</li></ul>Level III (Additions)<ul><li>An Associate’s degree (electrical or technical) and two years turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and three-year wind turbine experience</li></ul>If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications but see yourself contributing, please submit your resume.<h4>What Would Be Nice</h4><ul><li>Previous experience in SAP is preferred.</li></ul>Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law.
